The design approach to this interior is inspired by the balance between beige and gray that spreads all over the open-plan living room with a dining area, combined with a mini-hallway. The main focus is the cutting-edge Industrial fireplace with a Rustic appeal that contrasts the Mid-Century Modern-inspired relaxation space. A prevalence of round shapes can be noticed throughout the entire interior, particularly when the accent wall with illusionary circles sets a Modern vibe and makes sure it reaches every room angle.

The first thing about this design project that draws the eye is the harmony between gray and beige – two trendy colors that set the right amount of comfort and sobriety for a Modern interior like this. The designer made the most of some of the best paint colors from Benjamin Moore with the crisp white Decorator’s White CC-20 on the ceiling, the soft white Chantilly Lace OC-65 on the walls, and the bluish-gray Moonshine OC-56 on the built-in open bookcase.

The grayish fairytale goes on with the light gray herringbone parquet and instantly contrasts the creamy beige furniture and the same light wood open-shelving that preserves a similar warm feel.

Such a spacious interior deserves a reliable source of light, and the enormous windows with white sheer curtains manage the task without much effort. Still, the designer made sure to add a set of two gray blackout curtains so that the homeowners could easily ensure their privacy during the night or when organizing a movie day with their friends.

As for artificial lighting, the practical track lighting and spotlights above functional spaces evenly brighten the room. To guarantee the relaxation and dining areas achieve an environment of their own, the designer integrated into their design plan two black Sputnik pendants that stay true both to Mid-Century Modern and Industrial, equally felt in this slightly eclectic interior.

The largest wall in this room exposes as a sizeable built-in bookcase painted in gray with open shelving and closed sections with glass doors. The minimalist decor perfectly suits the homeowners’ contemporary vision that appreciates the sleekness of shapes and neutral color schemes. The open shelves are lit by integrated LED strips, which add a Modern charm to the interior as a whole.

Still, the status of the main focus is held by the Industrial fireplace with an edgy design that steals the show with a Rustic twist right inside a contemporary space, particularly when the metallic firewood holder decides to join the composition.

Mini-hallway

The introductory part is represented through a mini-hallway separated by the rest of the room through a ceiling partition structure. The space itself is decorated with off-white wallpaper, white interior doors, and the focal point – a tremendous white accent wall with illusionary circles that serve as decor for the whole interior.

Sticking to the practical part, the designer incorporated a built-in closet with glass sliding doors that expose a showy bronze finish. Here, the young couple this design project was created for can safely store their belongings and be sure their interior will not show the slightest mark of clutter.

Living area

Bearing in mind the concept of full relaxation, the designer gathered the warm color variations in this area. The first piece to make its move is the Mid-Century Modern creamy beige sectional sofa, beautifully accompanied by throw pillows of a similar texture and color. Its friendly neighbor, the cream Papasan chair with a wicker frame and the softest cushion seat, follows the same color rules and brings in a new feature – the coziness that revolves around curved shapes.

A Modern resting zone would not go without at least one coffee table, and the designer went with two, which are so different in style yet manage to work in harmony with each other. The accent coffee table with a teak root base and a round glass top challenges the other accent end table with an intricate shape and, of course, a bronze finish.

The room was enriched with a new bookcase with open shelves of light wood decorated with bronze bars. The same minimalist approach to decor prevails here as well. On the other side, the large screen TV completes the area meant to radiate comfort.

Sparkling dining area

The added dining space has its own personality. The designer decorated this zone in a way that stands out, using the bronze finish to the fullest. It would surely impress amateurs of abstract art when they see the decorative masterpiece of wood standing on a gold and black marble base right in the dining area on the background of an ostentatious accent wall decorated with bronze panels.

With no less grandeur, the Mid-Century round dining table with a bronze wire base and glass top engages itself into a dance of shining elegance alongside the Modern shell chairs with a bronze polished seat and wood legs. There are additional seats so that the couple can share the beauty of their interior in the company of their friends during late-night dinners.

When it seems that the picture cannot get any better, bronze strikes again with a sparkling finish on the built-in bookcase that throws new light on the dining area alongside the LED strips.
